Every desire to create utopia contains within it the fear of its inverse – dystopia. This selection of short films play out a curious tension intrinsic to the worlds they portray – systems of absolute control underscored by a rebel without a cause, a putrefying Gotham held at bay by a dimension-hopping schizophrenic superhero, or impossible beauty standards driven to their absurd extreme by computer-wielding queens with nail extensions. - The unattainable utopian desire for optimisation is inevitably annihilated in an anarchic blaze of exhaustion.
