Alex Gerbaulet
Künstlerische Mitarbeiterin (2009-2011). Alex Gerbaulet, geb. 1977, Filmemacherin, Künstlerin, Kuratorin. Lebt und arbeitet in Berlin und Braunschweig. In ihrer künstlerischen Arbeit beschäftigt sie sich mit der Abbildbarkeit von Wirklichkeit und Erinnerung. Immer wiederkehrende politische Themenkomplexe sind dabei Migration, Rassismus, Toleranz und der alltägliche Umgang hiermit in Deutschland. Ihre Filme sind u.a. Über Land (2002), Datterode (2005), Gefangenenbilder (2007), Schon Nachmittag (2009); Gruppenausstellungen u.a. Das Bielefelder Gefühl, Bielefelder Kunstverein (2009); BIG IN JAPAN, Arcus Studio Moriya, Japan (2009); fast harmonisch, KuBaSta Hamburg (2010); seit 2006 ist sie Mitglied der Auswahlkommission für das Kasseler Dokumentarfilm- und Videofest; 2008 war sie Mitbegründerin des AnaDoma – Fest für Film und Video in Braunschweig und erhielt den Meisterschülerpreis der Hans-Böckler-Stiftung; seit 2007 ist sie künstlerische Mitarbeiterin an der HBK Braunschweig. Alex Gerbaulet, born in 1977, artist, filmmaker and curator, lives and works in Berlin and Braunschweig, Germany. For her artwork the concept of documentarism gives an important impulse. Her films discuss recurrently the issues of migration, tolerance and racism as well as their association with German normality, they always include a personal approach. Her films are, amongst others, Margit (2001), By Land (2002), Datterode (2005), Tattooed prisoners (2007), Already Afternoon (2009). Group exhibitions are a.o. Das Bielefelder Gefühl, Bielefelder Kunstverein (2009); BIG IN JAPAN, Arcus Studio Moriya, Japan (2009); fast harmonisch, KuBaSta Hamburg (2010); Since 2006 she is member of the Selection Committee of the Kasseler Documentary Film and Video Festival. She is co-founder of the AnaDoma – Festival for Film and Video, Braunschweig (2008), and was awarded a fellowship of the Hans-Böckler-Foundation in 2008. Since 2007 she is staff member at the University of Arts in Braunschweig. |
