Die erste Woche unserer Exkursion verbrachten wir in Kyoto. Neben dem Austauschevent mit der Filmmaker Coop Calling und einem Besuch unserer Partnerhochschule Seika konnten wir zahlreiche UNESCO-Weltkulturerbestätten kennenlernen. In Japan sind Natur und Kultur keine Gegensätze, sondern es gibt viele Beispiele für ihre harmonische Verbindung. Im vergleichsweise beschaulichen Kyoto konnten wir in die japanische Lebensweise eintauchen und das Spannungsfeld zwischen Tradition und Moderne erkunden.
We spent the first week of our excursion in Kyoto. In addition to the exchange event with Filmmaker Coop Calling and a visit to our partner university Seika, we were able to explore numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In Japan, nature and culture are not opposites, but rather there are many examples of their harmonious connection. In the comparatively tranquil city of Kyoto, we were able to immerse ourselves in the Japanese way of life and explore the tension between tradition and modernity.
